On the 1st of April 2017, Johanna Konta won the Miami Open title by beating Caroline Wozniacki. During the same year, she became the first British woman to reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon since 1978, won by Virginia Wade. But her journey soon ended after losing to Venus Williams. After the tournament, Jo Konta was ranked 4th in the world.
In October 2017, the tennis star split from her coach Wim Fissette. It was also said that Konta had an ankle injury that would rule her out for the rest of the season. In May 2019, she managed to reach the Italian Open final. But Karolina Pliskova proved to be too much for her. The following month, the ace reached the semi-finals of the French Open. It was difficult for Konta to beat the talented Marketa Vondrousova.
